MY BISD INVOLVEMENT!

"As a proud Boerne native, I consider myself blessed to have grown up in this remarkable community under the guidance of the late, legendary Principal Samuel V. Champion, who has left a lasting impact on my heart. After graduating from Boerne High School in 1998, I received my bachelor's degree in Communications and Business from Southwest Texas State University, where I also competed as a student-athlete in Track and Cross Country. Following graduation, I began my sales and marketing career at Nike Timing and Vision in Austin. In 2005, my husband and I moved back to Boerne to live, work, and raise our family. Today, all four of our children attend and thrive in Boerne schools. 

After moving back, I have seen from a new lens and gained a fresh, new perspective about our community. It has given me hope in our future to witness positive change and growth in a place that holds a special place in my heart, and it's gratifying to see our children flourish in a town that I love. I have actively participated in our children's education, from kindergarten to (almost) high school graduation, enabling me to see across all levels of education in BISD. I'm impressed, and my heart is to help keep us on the right trajectory for a hope-filled future for all the students in our school district. By doing so, it's been my passion to actively participate in our schools and activities that involve children across our community. Coaching for a large local track club, the Hill Country Comets, has allowed me to invest in countless families and children representing different schools in our district. By taking an interest in education and becoming engaged in multiple roles within and outside the district, I've gained a wealth of valuable experience. Most importantly, I've witnessed the intentionality of BISD, which is being committed to providing our children with the best education in every way. 

I believe my vast volunteer experiences will serve me excellently as a board trustee, as I've had the honor of serving in the following capacities, along with others, in BISD over the last decade: District Education Improvement Committee, Long-Range Steering Committee, Safety and Security Committee, Strike Force Parent Engagement Committee, Bond Oversite Committee, Site-Based Committees, BISD Hall of Honor Board Member and Class of 2016 Hall of Honor Inductee, BISD Boerne's Best Alumni Association Board Member, Boerne Education Foundation Board Member, Master Facility Plan Focus Group Participant, Herff Elementary PTO Co-President, Boerne Insider Talk Show Co-Host, and additional opportunities of service as well. 

As a bridge-builder, I believe that it is crucial to link our past to our present and work towards a united community across all schools in our district. Instead of Old Boerne & New Boerne, we are ONE Boerne! My passion lies in bringing people together and empowering them to work as ONE team - The Boerne ISD Team. I have seen first-hand the excellence of our administrators, teachers, coaches, and staff who have worked tirelessly to make our school district one of the best in Texas. As a trustee, I will strive to be a servant leader for our students, families, and BISD employees. I hold family and community values close to my heart and am motivated to make a positive impact through dedication, morally sound decisions and hard work. I firmly believe that by working together, we can ensure that every child in BISD receives the best education possible.  As your trustee, I would work alongside other board members to listen, understand, and communicate effectively to carry the baton towards our bright future."
